Growing up on a dairy farm in Saluda, South Carolina gave me a love and respect for animals at an early age. Our dairy herd was one of the teaching herds for the University of Georgia, College of Veterinary Medicine, so as a kid, I spent a lot of my free time with senior veterinary students each month when they came to work on our cows. Seeing their passion and expertise planted a seed in me that helped lead me to choose the same profession years later.

I attended Lander University for my undergraduate degree and received a Bachelor of Science in Biology, and then graduated from University of Georgia, College of Veterinary Medicine in 2004. After graduation, I moved to Phoenix, Arizona for almost 8 years and practiced both small and large animal medicine. While living in Phoenix I met my wife, Rachael.

In 2011 we returned to Charleston and with much excitement, I joined the Park West Vet team. Today we have 2 boys, Jack and Drew, who are true blessings in our lives. I love spending time with my family and our Labradoodle, Abby. In my spare time, Rachael and I love to run and we have competed in several marathons and half marathons all around the Lowcountry and have competed in a few triathlons as well. We love Charleston and we are so proud to call it home.
