Having grown up in Summerville, it’s exciting to be living back in the LowCountry. 7 years ago I would not have believed that I’d find myself as a veterinarian much less a small animal practitioner.

While horses were my passion that took me through my undergraduate degree at Clemson, my three years working in the Thoroughbred industry in Lexington, Kentucky, and my pursuit of vet school at Auburn University, I’ve found my place within small animal practice. It was my time working at Hagyard Equine Medical Institute with a field veterinarian that changed the game for me. He introduced me to the impact and voice a veterinarian truly has. It was my second year working alongside Dr. Pumphrey when he said to me as we drove off one of our regular farm calls, “You know, you’d make a good vet.” Having the utmost respect for him and knowing those words didn’t come without genuine intent, I began considering vet school.

I left Lexington thinking I’d return to continue my pursuit in the equine industry but during the last six months of clinical rotations, I found myself deciding to pursue small animal medicine following graduation.

My first two years of practice took place in Northern California where I began life with my now husband who was in a position with Fellowship of Christian Athletes after finishing his baseball career at Stanford University.  During our first year of marriage, we began thinking about our next move and it led us to Charleston where both of us could pursue our passions - veterinary medicine and law school!

My husband and I have three dogs, Golden Retrievers Luke and Lucy, and a Collie named Linus who keeps us living in the moment and enjoying our walks through downtown Charleston.  I’m excited to be a part of the Park West Vet team and thankful to be home!
